Atta Cave / Castle Braunfels
Germany’s subterranean world of wonder.
Come with us on a day trip to visit the queen of dripstone caves in our country.
Our first stop will be at the Lake Bigge, amidst a lovely nature parc where we also find Lake Bigge. We do a walk down through the 80 m long access gallery into the colorful world of wonderful stalactites and stalagmites and stone curtains hanging from the rock ceiling.
It is the largest dripstone cave in our country, over 6,5 kilometers long.
More than 40 million visitors from all over the world have been there so far and we are sure this subterranean paradise will fascinate you as well.
After we left this area we will visit Castle Braunfels (built approx. 1240 AD), a mighty medieval Castle with Knights Hall, state rooms and contemporary furniture, art gallery, parlors, weaponry of tournaments, an impressive courtyard and much more. Later we drive back to Frankfurt.
