Palace Ludwigsburg / Monastery Maulbronn
Never heard about it? Let yourself be impressed!
Follow us on a journey through time to a world of contrast: Baroque courtly splendor and medieval monastery life in Germany.
Ludwigsburg is a small, but very charming city with lovely and sound old buildings, colorful townhouses and a fantastic marketplace. A taste of German peaceful province, if there would not be the huge Palace, one of the largest Baroque residences of Europe, over 300 years old, still in its original condition, impressive size (over 450 rooms) and sumptuous interior. Enjoy the incredible splendor of a Royal Court during your inside tour through the palaces grand rooms.
So very close by and such a strong contrast: Monastery MAULBRONN (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). One of Europe’s most complete and best-preserved medieval monastery complexes: Superb architecture from Romanesque to Gothic. The buildings are enclosed by medieval walls and towers. The entire complex, found in 1147, provides a perfect insight into the life and work of a monastic order in the Middle Ages.
